While watching Dischord 80, otherwise known as the Fugazi Instrument Documentary, last night I remembered the t-shirt a kid who lived up the street from me, Peter "Skip" Traggorth, wore once a week... I coveted said t-shirt and it ends up that, I guess I still kinda do as I was never able to locate one.

The irony, inside joke, of this t-shirt starts...

I grew up knowing and respecting July 4th as a very special American holiday... living in New York City, I've learned that July 5th is a very special New York holiday... it seems that EVERYONE collectively decides to hit the beach.
Not to long ago there were grumblings of to Coney Island's demise, the death of a landmark, the end of an era... like Jimmy Hoffa's whereabouts and Alligators in the sewers, it seems that was...

This week was cool... literally, the weather was beautiful in NYC. Time to see some friends!
I stopped by the offices of Once in a Row Mgmt. / Modern Art Records to see McInnes and Ben Collins. Ben was hard at work on stuff for the new MINIATURE TIGERS record so I just messed around the office and took pictures of his collected stuff and paintings, all the while asking to many questions...

Waking up in LA always means I'm up before everyone else, because my mind is always on East Coast time... I met with Petey Lee and Claudine for breakfast.

In 1988 my Mom did something I will forever be grateful for... she drove us a long, long way from our small town, out to a parking lot to see a stop on the POWELL PERALTA Bones Brigade Tour.
I was a pre-teen with a yellow Free Former skateboard that I did not bring because I was emberassed, if I only had that skateboard now, it would be a shrine in my apartment......

I flew to LA for a 36 hour visit... no amount of time is ever enough...
[NO MORE DELTA]
I caught up with one of my best freinds photographer and fashion designer P.Lee.
[Lee "Scratch" Petey]
This visit I got to spend a good amount of time with our adopted little brother, the voice of @DCMA_Collective and DCMACollective.com. This guy works on many things... he's the invisible man...

This week I stopped by my friend Dan's office for a meeting... when I got there I wanted to take off my shoes an walk around barefoot. The whole office is covered in grass... it's a serious think tank over there. I didn't want to leave.
[GRASS IS ALWAYS]
Later that night I was hanging on the street with some no-good rebel rousers...

Then this fella comes up, holding a DVD and yelling...

FREELANCE WHALES @ GOVERNORS ISLAND.
I'd like to take a minute and tell you about how I saw this band a long time ago in the subway... then I saw them play for a hundred or so people... then a sold out Mercury Lounge show... then Bowery Ballroom... then opening at Williamsburg Hall of Music... but I won't. The history of this band is important to me because I love music and I love...

Neil Young wrote a song about how Rock n' Roll would never die... a few years ago I worked at my "Dream Label" and just a few days in I was pretty sure Mr. Young should probably change his tune. If you know me, you know I've made the change in life, trying to see the positive in all things, everywhere I can... working around music, in it's current state means always searching for the...
