Double Nickels on the Dime…

Sometimes I put on a song and let it play on repeat all day... I did it once in college, I think I was kinda outta my mind that day anyway... my friend Dave still tells the story. I'm not sure if it perpetuates my insanity or just proves it... or maybe it's just a regular thing. I've been listening to this one song for the last 3 days.
Anyway... I spent a lot of time...

THANK YOU

THANK YOU

Yesterday, August 23rd, was my birthday and I did something I've never done before...
You see... I'm not actually a Holiday person... I won't get into it, it's not worth getting into... normally I ghost out on my birthday, I don't answer any calls, I don't answer any e-mails... I usually just go to a record store, go to the movies and feel melancholy all day, but yesterday was different.
For the first time in my...

RANDOM, FOUND & FAVORITES…

My desktop is littered with random pictures, at all times, that inspire or provoke different kinds of thought... Welcome to my brain...
Here's a picture I took at a recent Miniature Tigers show, Mercury Lounge NYC.
[BULLFIGHTER JACKET]
Robert Verde... what can I say... we're riding the same brainwave my friend.

I've spent the last couple days away from internet...
[ZOMBIE]
I spent the last 30 hours in the mountains... deep in the forest...
[ABDUCTION]
I can't wait for everyone to see this one... pretty insane!

HAPPY SHARK WEEK

HAPPY SHARK WEEK

Last week, before the craziness of Lollapalooza, we all went up to Queens to celebrate one of my best pals', Andrew McInnes, birthday... If you ever get the chance to spend 5 minutes talking to McInnes you'll instantly know why he's everyone's favorite Long Islander...
Born to Andy & Midge McInnes, raised in the pit, a lover of many an enemy to none... I've never heard a negative mention of this guy, I say that...

WHEEEEWWW….

This week went by so fast I don't know where to begin... I went to D.C. and back in a day, I ran 40 miles (literally), I made a PLAY LIST
(that you can download), I saw a dozen bands, rode 60 miles on my bike, the most people ever (15,748) tuned in to FIRST PERSON
, I wrote some for a NEW PROJECT
and I'm...

LA comes to NY

LA comes to NY

My friends from LA came to town this week... it was kinda weird as I'm accustomed to being taken all around their town. I guess it wasn't so different... Tal was, as always, the "Little Boss" and somehow still managed to drag Bobby Hundreds
and I around my home turf, haha... [Tal & Silent Bob]
My pals from Vans were in town and they threw a little get-together... "NO PICTURES OF NEW...

FIRST PERSON

Spent Wednesday cleaning up the massive mess of my apartment, because my good friend Bryan Ling is coming to crash for a few days...
Bryan used to live in New York but moved to California a few years ago, to spend his every waking moment working with a band that we all love called Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Every couple months we get to hang out here, or in LA, and he always brings...

South Street Seaport

When I moved to Manhattan I knew approximately 3 people... on Saturdays I'd wake up at 9am or so and just walk the city. If you've ever been to New York on the weekends you know that on days that start with "S" the streets are "ghost town" empty until about noon. I'd get up on the weekends, grab my i-pod and walk down to the bottom of the island and then turn around and...

POSITIVE HUMANITY

POSITIVE HUMANITY

This week, like most recent times, was a busy, full, fun week... let me begin with a little story...
A month or so ago I got a bike... I was riding non-stop for 10 straight days and on the 10th day, much to my dismay, I walked out of a dinner meeting to see another person, someone I didn't recognize riding away on it. I looked down to see the lock had been cut, bolt cutters,...
