Happy Birthday My Friend…

There was a time when I would go anywhere I was invited… then I stopped, I don’t really know why… The last week I’ve been home and while looking through the pictures on my various picture taking devices I realized, people make me really stoked on life! People add so much to whatever it is you do… So I got up and spent some time with some rad people… some old friends and some new.
I went to a place I’d never heard of before called Tom & Jerry’s (that’s where I found that Deer Head up above).

SURFER BLOOD. SURFER BLOOD. SURFER BLOOD. SURFER BLOOD. SURFER BLOOD. SUFER BLOOD.

I saw this band play an In-Store at Other Music.

[SURFER BLOOD.]

One of the best men on the planet… if Superman was real, his daytime name would not be Clark Kent… it would be Mark Holloway.

TONIGHT… LIVE… FROM GLENDALE CALIFORNIA!!!
[Bill Ciggs & Sarah Terrible]

The band got back together for Quinn’s 22nd Birthday… I could write a couple pages on my friend Quinn, she used to live on 10th street… she’s one of the most supportive, encouraging people you’ll ever meet, she makes wearing saddle shoes look rad… I love you Quinn.
[Quinn & Nicky]

Sitting to the right of me at the Quinn-dig was Jenny “Penny” who invited me to go see Regis & Kelly with her… um… maybe next time buddy.
[JENNY SIAID REGIS IS LOSING HIS TOUCH]

Sitting to the left of me was Mr. & Mrs. Battjer… This is what genetically perfect people look like, they have a combined I.Q. of 900, -17% body fat and they write books, upside down, in the dark, backwards… I already put a down-payment on one of their children, sweeeet.
[Battjer]

Oh, hey, it’s Gurj… she’s my first and only pen-pal I ever had and she moved here from England! Then she got an awesome job and an awesome boyfriend and she’s going to be on MTv on a show called “Downtown Girls” and it’s supposed to be sorta like a real life S&TC I think… I kinda don’t get to hang out with her as much these days, so it was nice to see her… Hi Gurj, I miss you, wanna be pen-pals again?
[JEET]

WHOA… ANOTHER BIRTHDAY!!!

My friends Stevie & Maxx got together all these cool kids for Bia’s birthday, they were nice enough to invite me… it was a really rad time. To me, Maxx & Bia are basically the future of art & style in New York… he is a young film maker and she is an undiscovered movie star. Somebody needs to make a Souxsie & the Banshees Bio-pic and cast Bia in that joint, no kidding. If you see them out A. You’ll recognize them, because they dress better than anyone I know and 2. When you do recognize them introduce yourself because they’re so inspiring to know…

[RED VELVET CAKE]

Maxx I know it’s impossible to get an actual picture of you, but I’m on a mission buddy…
[THE YOUNG FILM MAKER]

Dear friends, old & new…
Thank you for getting me out of the house, always introducing me to new incredible things and sharing your interesting lives with me… if it wasn’t for you I’d get lost in my head and never come out, I’d forget to look around.

*Hold on to your FRIENDS.

**Hey Moz, why don’t you play a show (or 7) with your friends?
***By friends, I mean The Smiths… if BLUR can do it, I’ll bet you could… wishful thinking.

is great to see old friends, they are those people who resisted our boring, bad times and as my grandmother says(?) “There’s no better mirror than an old friend”.
when I grow up I want to be like Mr. & Mrs. Battjes .
