Are you ready to have your mind BLOWN?!?! Long story short… a Manson family member is on trial and the discussion of “The Death Penalty” is at hand. The accused proclaims to the court room “JUST DO IT!”…and that my friends is where Dan Wieden, of Wieden Kennedy, sourced his tag line for the now famous NIKE ad campaign.
I’ve been obsessed with art & commerce since the age of 12. While other kids were drawing Pac Man mazes and G.I. Joe characters, I was obsessed with imitating package design and developing my own ad campaigns for both existing and imagined products. I grew up, living in magazines, I guess some things never change…
I’m heading to Sundance next week, I’m always excited to see new movies… In looking up some independent films I came across this little piece of AWESOME… man I wish this movie was gonna be showing there. Art & Copy is an entire film about advertising campaigns and everything surrounding the development of some really famous ones.

*Thanks for the checking this site out and leaving your 2 cents about everything under the sun… Oh, and Wieden Kennedy, I’d love to get coffee with you sometime.

I have always enjoyed watching those kinds of movies that teach and inform. Watching that trailer was very interesting. Some commericals ARE stupid..but some are mini movies!
I have always wanted to go to Sundance and see some of the new stuff being created. Your very versatile Mr. Madden.. Josh..
I enjoy reading your blogs.
nice blog..
I will check out the movies..
I grew up in Portland where Wieden Kennedy is located. They are the agency every creative wants to be a part of, what a great story about where the Nike campaign came from. Inspiration can truly come from any where, can’t it?
Just found your blog and enjoy the perspective you bring.
How long you sticking around? It’ll be playing at the Park City Film Series Feb 12 – 14.
The movie looks amazing!
I’ve always loved and hated advertising for the same reason at the same time!
Their way to make people buy things they even didnt need just because it’s on TV and has a nice slogan, it’s awesome and disgusting at the same time!
I could talk about that four hours!
Thank you for your blog, I really enjoy reading it!
(and sorry for the mistakes, im belgian)
